myHome magazine | Refused to be Overlooked: Seeing the Woman Power in the Inaugural Meeting of WAT

With the rising of feminism, more and more female designers in fields such as architecture, interior, design and arts have occupied a room of their own. The unyielding spirit and natural sensitivity make them stars—and they refuse to be overlooked. This woman power has gathered to form "Women in Architecture Taiwan"(WAT), whose inaugural meeting will be hold on May 5th.

The inaugural meeting, "One Colorful Day—女子日", invites all participants to dress up in brilliant colors. "Black" has been the major symbolic color of "being a professional in architect circles. This time, let the splendid array of colors present wonderful diversity, as a symbol of breakthrough the male-dominant, professional monotone!

For the next stage, WAT will persist on 3 major concerns: "Her-Story", "Her Voice", and "Her Persistence". A platform will be built for dialogues across generations for architecture criticism, where female professional's voices will project aloud as a knock on the door of the world. WAT will also propose a unique viewpoint of her own, and ultimately ensure the development of architecture, environment, arts and humanity go on with good will.
